Central City VIP Plein-Air Painting Demo

Central City Opera is hosting a plein-air painting event the weekend of September 27-29, and I’m honored to be giving a private demo in conjunction with the event on Sunday afternoon. Ticket holders will be treated to wine and small bites during the demo, followed by VIP early entry to the Central City Plein Air Festival Preview Party & Sale. The $100 tickets are limited, so please contact Central City Opera directly.

Painting Horses
September 8-13, 2019
Located near Colorado's Great Sand Dunes, at the Zapata Ranch, this workshop focuses on drawing and painting horses. Discussions and exercises will address the importance of understanding equine anatomy, as well as what makes good drawing, composition, and color. Activities will include photo opportunities (of horses running and on a bison tour), sketching and studying corralled horses, demonstrations, and critiques.

Painting Horses Workshop

Thanks to the American Academy of Equine Art, I’m taking my workshop to Kentucky! Focused on drawing and painting horses, this workshop's discussions and exercises will address the importance of understanding equine anatomy, as well as what makes good drawing, composition, and color. What an opportunity to for equine artists to study painting in Kentucky bluegrass thoroughbred country!
