Drypoint etching is an intaglio printmaking technique that involves scratching or incising lines directly onto a metal plate,
typically copper or zinc. Ink is then applied to the entire plate surface and carefully wiped away, leaving ink in the incised lines.
Dampened paper is placed on the inked plate, and both are run through an etching press, transferring the image to the paper.
